Primark car print blouse

This week, I finally got my hands on Primark's car-print blouse, "inspired by"* Prada's spring-summer 2012 collection.

I rushed down to Marble Arch on Tuesday night, expecting huge queues outside and crowds of marauding fashionistas inside, fighting over the last size 10. Instead I found several racks full of the blouse, largely ignored by the hordes of Primark bargain-hunters.

In my state of frenzied excitement, I grabbed the top in both pale blue and lemon and headed to the till.

I can confirm that the blouse, with its 50s Americana print, is nearly identical to the real thing. What it lacks in quality, it makes up for in its sheer bargainousness (is that a word?).

Primark spring/summer 2012

They've done it again. Another surprisingly gorgeous spring/summer collection from Primark. 

Although I generally avoid the hell that is shopping in the high-street's cheapest fashion retailer, I have to admit there are some lovely pieces here.

Last year, they did Prada-esque riviera prints, and this year they've excelled themselves with a very close (I'm talking potential legal action) copy of the spring/summer 2012 Prada car-print pieces, as modelled by Dakota Fanning in this month's Elle.

No doubt, I'll be in their Oxford Street flagship as soon as these items appear.

Spring cravings

It's only January 7th, and already I'm bored of my winter wardrobe. It's just so...well, wintry.

I've started craving pastel colours like they're cupcakes, and black just doesn't feel right. I blame the cover of February's Elle, featuring Dakota Fanning (total cutie) in a Prada blouse and Nicola Roberts gracing the cover of InStyle in Preen.

Even though it's cold and windy outside, these are the kind of items I'm coveting.
